B.O.B. IT Portal
Web App / ITSM & ITAM
B.O.B. IT Portal was born out of a need. Support requests came in by email, by phone or in person, while I also had to keep track of PCs, licenses, warranties, vulnerabilities, backups and compliance, spread across different tools. Instead of bending my workflow around generic software, I built a tool around the way I actually work. Now everything goes through it.
At its core is the workbench: I open the portal and see one queue with tickets to pick up, tasks coming due, warranties, renewals and critical CVEs, sorted by urgency. Around it are the modules I use every day:
- Helpdesk: colleagues open tickets from the portal. I pick them up, assign them and close them, with priority-based reminders and in-app, email and Slack notifications
- Assets: hardware and software with assignment history, warranty and renewal deadlines, backup restore tests
- Security: vulnerabilities and agent inventory from Wazuh, tickets opened automatically from alerts, MFA and at-risk password detection
- NIS2: the asset register builds itself from data I already manage, with no spreadsheets filled in by hand
- Knowledge base: a resolved ticket becomes an article, which the portal suggests the next time the same issue comes up
- Personal organization: tasks with checklists, a calendar synced with Outlook, planned work sessions and a Slack digest every morning
- Reports and deploys: scheduled PDF/XLSX exports, an automatic monthly report and production deploys launched straight from the admin panel
It started as a fix for an organizational problem and became the tool I use every day to work and to coordinate with our external IT technician.
